چکیده

A moving spatial turbulence model is developed for rotorcraft maneuvering simulation under different flight conditions. The recursive algorithms are adopted to its distributed longitudinal components, which correlated with the lateral and vertical axes form a local field. flow field constrained around by following movement, corresponding components updated at constant interval. statistical properties along longitudinal, lateral, directions have been validated against von Kármán theory. synthetic environment consisting of dynamics pilot constructed demonstrate effectiveness model. Its performance comparing power spectral densities both responses controls in test data. piloted results on an Approach-to-Hovering task show that handling qualities ratings susceptive level significantly increase when performing aggressive controls. also accurately predicts expected effect varied aircraft speed, wind intensity, stability augmentation system rating turbulence.

Accelerating the High-fidelity Simulation of Turbulence: Ensemble Averaging

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is increasingly used to simulate complex industrial systems. Most CFD analysis relies on the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) approach and traditional two-equation turbulence models. Higher-fidelity approaches to the simulation of turbulence such as wallresolved large eddy simulation (LES) and direct numerical simulation (DNS) remain limited to smaller a...

AIAA 2000–2031 Noise Prediction For Maneuvering Rotorcraft

This paper presents the initial work toward firstprinciples noise prediction for maneuvering rotors. Both the aeromechanical and acoustics aspects of the maneuver noise problem are discussed. The comprehensive analysis code, CAMRAD 2, was utilized to predict the time-dependent aircraft position and attitude, along with the rotor blade airloads and motion. The major focus of this effort was the ...

Reference Model Based High Fidelity Simulation Modeling for Manufacturing Systems

ing logical rules should be justified and based on the data that we can observe from a real system. In other words, if a logical rule is abstracted, the input data for the abstracted logical rule should be observable in the real system, and its output data also should be comparable to the observable results of the real system. An abstracted model does not provide more I/O data than the original...

An Object-Oriented Approach to Maneuvering-Flight Rotorcraft Acoustics

Acceptance of helicopters in communities has driven research toward minimizing rotor noise. Recent research with full vehicle simulation over long-time maneuvering flight has shown that transient maneuvers significantly change the noise profile. An object-oriented approach has proven to be valuable in achieving the goal of efficient long-time maneuver noise prediction. This paper outlines an ob...
